Two kings of Sakhmet from history were King Galat-Ra the Lupe and King Hephaes-Ru the Kacheek. Galat-Ra died 120 years after Hephaes-Ru was born. Their combined ages when they died was 100 years. Hephaes-Ru died in the year 40 B.N. (Before Neopia).
In what year was King Galat-Ra born?
Possible Methods:
Let a and b be the year of birth and death for Galat-Ra respectively.
Let c and d be the year of birth and death for Hephaes-Ru respectively.
Negative numbers is used to denote the years before Neopia.
Since Galat-Ra died 120 years after Hephaes-Ru was born,
b - c = 120 (1)
Since their combined ages when they died was 100 years old,
(b - a) + (d - c) = 100 (2)
Since Hephaes-Ru died in 40 B.N.,
d = -40 (3)
Substitute (1) and (3) into (2),
120 - a + (-40) = 100
a = -20
Therefore, Galat-Ra was born in the year 20 B.N.
Answer: 20 BN

Mrs. Doyle the Housekeeper JubJub has made a big, big pile of sandwiches for the party of Skeiths visiting her house tonight. When she counts them, she realises that she can equally split the sandwiches between two Skeiths and have none left over. She can also split them between three Skeiths, four Skeiths, five Skeiths and six Skeiths equally and every time there will be no sandwiches left over.
What is the smallest amount of sandwiches that Mrs. Doyle could have made?
Possible Methods:
The total number of sandwiches is a factor of 2, 3, 4 (2^2), 5 and 6 (2 x 3).
Smallest amount of sandwiches (Lowest Common Multiple) = 2^2 x 3 x 5 = 60
Answer: 60 sandwiches

Brucey B has just won a load of money playing Cheat! He puts 1/5 of his winnings in the National Neopian Bank, and 1/2 of his winnings he invests into shares.
After those investments Brucey realises he still has quite a lot left. He then goes to Neopia Central and spends 1/10 of his winnings on chocolate neggs! At the end of the day he goes home and puts his remaining 500 NP in his mattress.
Possible Methods:
Let the amount of NP won by Brucey B be Y.
(1 - 1/5 - 1/2 - 1/10) x Y = 500
Y = 2500

Siya the Usuki Doll (pictured above) is 9 years older than her brother, and 25 years younger than her father. In seven years time her father will be three times older than her brother. How old is Siya now?
Possible Methods:
Let the age of Siya be Y years old.
3 x (Y - 9 + 7) = Y + 25 + 7
2Y = 38
Y = 19

There are six Moehogs travelling to Neopia Central, and each Moehog is carrying six baskets. In each basket are six Puppyblews, and each Puppyblew has had two baby Puppyblews. How many legs are there in total between all the Moehogs and Puppyblews?
Possible Methods:
Total number of Moehogs = 6
Total number of Puppyblews = 6 x 6 x 6 = 216
Total number of baby Puppyblews = 6 x 6 x 6 x 2 = 432
Total legs = (6 + 216 + 432) x 4 = 2616
Answer: There are 2,616 legs between them all!

If you wrote all of the numbers from 300 to 400 on a piece of paper, how many times would you have written the number 3?
Possible Methods:
Total number of 3s in hundredth place: 100 (300-399)
Total number of 3s in tenth place: 10 (330, 331, 332, 333, 334, 335, 336, 337, 338, 339)
Total number of 3s in ones place: 10 (303, 313, 323, 333, 343, 353, 363, 373, 383, 393)
Total number of 3s = 100 + 10 + 10 = 120
Answer: 120 times

A Skeith weighs 100 pounds plus half of his weight. How much does he weigh?
HINT : Just type in the number and nothing else to improve your chances of winning.
Possible Methods:
100 pounds is half of Skeith's weight since half of his weight plus half of his weight equals to his total weight.
His total weight is 2 x 100 = 200 pounds.
Answer: 200 pounds
